Tip 1: Match the Brush to the Floor

Using the right bristle for your floor is the biggest factor in brush life.

• Nylon medium: daily cleaning on most floors — longest life for daily use.
• PPL stiff: heavy grease only — do not use on sealed floors.
• Abrasive: stripping only — never daily, it grinds away fast.
• Steel wire: heavy grime only — the most aggressive, shortest life.

Tip 2: Set Correct Brush Pressure

Too much pressure wears bristles fast and strains the motor. Set brush pressure so the brush just touches the floor. Most machines have a pressure dial — start at the lowest setting that still cleans well, and increase only as needed.

Tip 3: Rotate Two Brushes

If you use your scrubber daily, buy two brushes and rotate them weekly. Each brush wears evenly while the other rests, and the bristles recover their shape. Two brushes rotated last longer than one used continuously.

Tip 4: Rinse and Dry After Use

Chemicals and grime left on the brush eat the bristles and backing. After each shift:

• Rinse the brush with clean water.
• Let it dry completely before storing.
• Store upright so bristles are not compressed.
