Unpacking and Inspection
When your Aikerui floor scrubber arrives, carefully inspect the packaging for any visible damage. Remove all strapping bands and open the top of the crate. Verify that all components are present: the main machine body, brush deck assembly, squeegee assembly, batteries (if separate), charger, operator manual, and accessory kit. Report any missing items to your sales representative immediately. Save all packaging materials until the machine is fully assembled and tested, in case you need to return or exchange any components.
- Check for external shipping damage before opening
- Verify all components against the packing list
- Locate the operator manual — keep it accessible for reference
- Do not discard packaging until installation is complete
Battery Installation and Connection
The battery is the heart of your floor scrubber's power system. For lead-acid batteries, first ensure they are fully charged before initial use. Place batteries into the designated battery compartment, ensuring they sit flat and secure. Connect the battery cables in the correct sequence: positive (red) first, then negative (black). Apply a thin layer of anti-corrosion gel to the terminals. For lithium battery models, simply insert the battery pack until it clicks into place — no cable connection is needed. Close and secure the battery compartment cover.
- Lead-acid: fill with distilled water before first charge (if dry)
- Connect positive terminal first, then negative
- Apply anti-corrosion gel to terminals
- Lithium: insert battery pack until locked in place
- Charge fully before first use (8-10 hours for lead-acid)
Squeegee Assembly Installation
The squeegee system is critical for water recovery — a properly installed squeegee leaves floors dry and safe. Begin by loosening the squeegee mounting bracket. Slide the squeegee assembly into the bracket, ensuring the suction hose connection faces the correct direction. Tighten the bracket securely. Next, adjust the squeegee blade angle: the rear blade should make full contact with the floor across its entire length. The front blade should have a slight gap (about 1-2mm) for water flow. For walk-behind models, the squeegee is typically rear-mounted; for ride-on models, it may be front or center-mounted depending on the configuration.
- Loosen bracket, insert squeegee assembly, tighten securely
- Connect suction hose — ensure airtight seal
- Adjust rear blade for full floor contact
- Set front blade gap to 1-2mm
- Test by running machine — look for streak-free drying
Brush or Pad Deck Installation
Select the appropriate brush or pad for your floor type. For general cleaning on concrete or tile, use a medium-stiff brush. For polished or coated floors, use a soft brush or pad driver. To install, tilt the machine back slightly or raise the brush deck using the deck lift pedal. Align the brush hub with the drive motor coupling and rotate until it locks into place. For dual-brush models, repeat on both sides. Lower the deck and test briefly to ensure brushes spin freely without unusual noise or vibration.
- Choose brush type based on floor surface (medium-stiff for concrete, soft for tile)
- Tilt machine or raise deck, align brush with drive coupling
- Rotate brush until it locks into place
- Lower deck and test spin — listen for abnormal noise
- Replace worn brushes when bristles are shorter than 15mm
Water Tank Preparation
Fill the solution tank with clean water and add the recommended amount of cleaning solution (typically 1-2 oz per gallon of water). Use only low-foam or auto-scrubber formula detergents — household cleaners create excessive foam that can damage the vacuum motor. Do not use hot water, as it may damage tank seals. Close the solution tank lid securely. Check the recovery tank: ensure the float shut-off is moving freely and the tank lid seal is clean and undamaged. Add a small amount of defoamer to the recovery tank if you anticipate heavy foam buildup.
- Use clean, cool water — never hot water
- Add low-foam scrubber detergent only (1-2 oz/gal)
- Check recovery tank float shut-off moves freely
- Ensure all tank lid seals are clean and seated properly
- Add defoamer if needed for heavy soil conditions
Pre-Operation Checklist
Before starting your machine for the first time, run through this checklist: verify the emergency stop button functions correctly, check all control levers and switches for smooth operation, confirm the horn and any warning lights are working, set the water flow rate to a low setting initially, and test the machine in a small, clear area before full operation. Refer to your machine-specific manual for any model-specific startup procedures. Keep the manual with the machine for future reference by all operators.
- Test emergency stop button
- Verify all controls operate smoothly
- Set water flow to minimum initially
- Test in a small clear area before full operation
- Keep operator manual accessible at all times
